Are you a creative and enthusiastic communications professional with a passion for making a difference?
At NYAS (National Youth Advocacy Service), we are dedicated to making a lasting impact on the lives of children, young people, and adults at risk. Our mission is to empower and amplify the voices of those who need it most. We believe that no child or young person should ever be alone or voiceless in the care system, in family court or when decisions are being made about their future.
We are seeking a creative and motivated Marketing & Communications Officer, working 35 hours per week, to support the delivery of engaging marketing, communications and PR activity across the organisation. Working alongside the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will help build NYAS’s external profile and brand awareness through innovative digital content, campaigns and communications activity.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will support the management of NYAS’s social media channels and website, create engaging digital and print content, and help deliver communications campaigns that connect with a wide range of audiences. From writing website articles and newsletters to designing marketing materials and creating video content, you will play an important role in telling the stories of the children, young people and adults we support.
You will also support PR and media activity, helping to identify opportunities to promote NYAS’s work and campaigns while monitoring engagement and impact across digital platforms. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will help ensure all communications reflect NYAS’s values and maintain a strong and consistent brand identity.
The role also offers opportunities to support events, campaigns and internal communications activity, while developing your skills across a broad range of communications disciplines including content creation, digital marketing, PR, analytics and stakeholder engagement.
About you
We are looking for someone who is creative, organised and passionate about using communications to make a positive impact. You will enjoy working collaboratively, bringing fresh ideas and a proactive approach to supporting a busy communications function.
You will have experience creating engaging content across digital platforms, with strong writing and proof-reading skills and an eye for detail and design. Confident using social media platforms, content creation tools and digital communications systems, you will be comfortable managing a variety of tasks and adapting your approach to different audiences.
You will be enthusiastic about storytelling and digital engagement, with the ability to identify opportunities to promote NYAS’s work, campaigns and impact. You will also be keen to develop your skills across marketing, PR, media and communications within a supportive and values-led environment.
You will demonstrate NYAS’s values of Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Empowerment in your approach to work and share our commitment to supporting children, young people and adults at risk to have their voices heard.
This is a home-based role with agile working options, however there is an expectation of occasional travel to NYAS offices in Birkenhead, Birmingham and Cardiff as well as other locations as required.
